It's never a good thing when a Southerner tells you "bless your heart" it just translates to you must have missed school that day. I was inspired by our community, our culture and our southern grit to be kind to one another, treat each other with respect and love. I love the message I engraved on the inside of these journals. I drew this design digitally and worked side by side with my brother at Statedwoods Co in West End, NC to laser engrave my design into the leather. This journal is made from a durable redwood bark waxed cowhide leather that has a flexible temperment but stiff enough to be substantial for decades to come.

We were raised to say yes ma’am and no sir and you better not talk back. But lawd have mercy, we love our state, but most of all we love each other. And y’all better believe, here in North Carolina, 
we’re always fixin’ to make everyone feel right at home... unless you have lost your marbles."
